The building constructed in 1980 consits of several parts that have been connected over the years. The city council wants to redevelop its „Anders Werken“ working conecpt (which means „Working differently“) at all locations and has emphasised sustainability in the designs.
Studio Biek has strived for circularity in both structural alterations and custom-made products and furniture.
The interior walls were sustainably insulated and painted, and the furniture was selected with the aim of creating little waste. To be particularly sustainable, existing furniture from the community was integrated and complemented by refurbished and circular new furniture. Our tiles, made from renewable raw materials, were used in different colors for the seating areas and meeting rooms, providing extra comfort, a colourful look and pleasant acoustics. The new meeting tables were made from regional trees that had to be chopped down anyway. Ready for a sustainable future!
